Impact of Negative Emotions On Our Health

design-26

We all know negative emotions are not good for us. That is apparent. But did you know the link between negative emotions and our health? Research is coming out daily on the impact of harboring negative emotions like stress, anxiety, resentment, guilt and fear. It is so freakin’ inspiring to know we can take back the power of our health.

Let’s face it. Negative emotions happen to us all the time.

Check out my video on Negative Emotions here.

80% of our thoughts are negative.

Isn’t that insane? But, there are there for a purpose. It is an indicator, a warning light to let us know something is amiss. And most of the time we are completely unaware of our internal notifications.

Instead we choose to push it deep down inside of us. We try to believe it is not a big deal. And we may try to slop some positivity on top of it. But that does not work. Because the negative emotion is still within us. It needs to be released. And if we don’t intentionally release it, it will take matters into it’s own hands.

It can come out in passive aggressive comments. (That was my “go to”). Or it can be road rage. Or domestic violence. It is really scary when you think about all the cases of the guy who went postal and no one say it coming. And then as facts come up, they had emotional issues under the surface.

It can manifest in binge eating, or shopping (another vice of mine), drinking or drugs as an escape route.

The latest research has shown over 40% of cancer patients has “forgiveness issues”. The anger and hatred creates chronic anxiety. And it produces bad stuff which hinders the production of the good cells to fight cancer. See more here.

So, it is in our best interest to process the emotions we have. And know there is a difference between forgiving and condoning the action. The forgiveness is a release of emotions. It is something we can do for ourselves. Now.

Now is the time to take our power back. Release the emotions and embrace forgiveness. It is a simple way to create peace in our life.

You can do the work on your own, or you can find someone that can help you.

I’ll be doing a free challenge – The 7 Day Journey to an Effortless Life and this will be one of the topics we will cover. It will be freakin’ awesome!

My Path to Having It All: Stage 2 – The Opening Phase

Path to Having it All - Opening PhaseThis saying is so freaking rad.Our power is our ability to choose our feelings, which control everything! It reconfirmed my belief to keep going down the path to Having it All.The Opening Phase in the Path to Having it All was amazing. I started to realize that I – not anyone else was getting in my own way. I had no idea what that meant, but I was curious and excited to explore more. I was open.

At the opening phase, it is all about being aware you have filters from you past experiences. When I entered this stage, I would say all the time, “It is like seeing the world in HD!” It was the same magnitude of when I opened my eyes after Lasik eye surgery. I saw the world in a state of wonder and delight.

I dived into self discovery because I knew I had to find answers. I was sick and tired of just accepting life as status quo. I was over pushing down those soul questions that would pop into my head in the middle of the night which didn’t allow me to sleep. I was so tired of being tired. I was tired of feeling guilty for feeling lack in my life because I had so many things to be grateful for. A great husband I manifested as a Divorced Mom, 2 beautiful girls, our dream home and a secure job.

After being in the Getting Grounded phase, I knew there was more work for me to do to truly Have it All. For more on my Getting Grounded phase click here.

So instead of wallowing in my crap, I started my path. It was the first time I experienced excitement in weeks. In between my therapist appointments, I started to read books like mad. When I got tired of reading, I would take a break and listen to audio books. And then inspiration hit.

I was on Facebook and saw there was a local event going on with female entrepreneurs. I felt a nudge in me, telling me I should go. Being an introvert yes I am an introvert when I am at events where I don’t know anyone I was surprised that I accepted the invitation. Especially in the state of anguish I was in.

I would have done a “no show” if I didn’t have to pay money. So I got ready and went. When I got there, I was so nervous. I did not know what to expect and I didn’t even know the women hosting the event.

But I went with it. I sat next to someone that was amazing. She understood me. She got my struggle. And then, without even looking, I hired my first coach. It was a scary & exciting feeling to invest in myself and believe in a new possibility!

The biggest impact was on my mindset. I discovered my limiting beliefs and how that created an invisible glass ceiling that I never knew existed. It was crazy! I started to skim the surface on how the brain works and how life experiences, my environment impacted everything.

I became so fascinated with the mind, I went to 5 day working seminars to discover more. I was obsessed. It was like crack for the soul. I started to understand how it all worked. It was freakin’ awesome sauce. I began putting pieces together in my life and started to understand WHY I was in the situation I was. WHAT was really in my way. Then I started to learn HOW to get out of it. One of those steps entailed getting off of antidepressants!

If you are ready to open yourself up a world of new possibilities and get on the path of Having it All, set up a complimentary discovery session with me. We will get clear on where you are & where you want to be.

The opening phase on the path to Having it All was bitter sweet. I got the concepts, but I was not sure how to apply it. I would see small shifts and have moments of genius and I would crave for more enlightenment. So I would study more and more.

Then, one day my lighting bolt it, of course, at the perfect time.

Sending you Love, Life and Oodles of Positive Vibes!

How I Got Out of My Own Way

How to Get Out of Your Own Way

I was sitting in a 3 day seminar with butterflies in my stomach. Ever since stuttering as a child, I always had a fear of public speaking. Something made me raise my hand.  When I was called, I went up to the microphone to state why I was there. As I walked up, I had no freaking idea what I was going to say. When I took the mic, I blurted out “I want to get out of my own way”. I didn’t even know what that meant! I was shocked to get so much applause. As I was giving people hi-fives on the way back to my chair, I started my path to self discovery. Here is my journey on how I got out of my own way.

I have always had a plan for my life. I wanted to be in control and know what was coming. I planned out the milestones in my life to a tee.  At the time, I thought I will brilliant and discovered the secret sauce. I mean, I had it all! The husband, daughter, dream home and good job, all at the age of 28.

I had life figured out. Until I didn’t.

I realized all of huge decisions I made in life was out of fear. I didn’t take chances or risks because I did not want to get hurt. I didn’t want people to know that I never felt like I fit in. So, I played it safe. I wanted to know the outcome, so I tried my damnedest to control life. The funny thing is, by trying to control everything, I realized that I shut my intuition out.

The statement “I want to get out of my own way” was my catalyst to take a deep dive internally.  Life is funny. I tried so hard to not let my past impact me because I never wanted to be the victim. I didn’t realize that my perspective of my past had such a huge impact on my life decisions. I learned to let go of my need for control & I gave into my fear. Check out this post to overcome fear now. I was dedicated to change my “story” of my past. I never felt so vulnerable and powerful at the same time. It was life changing. Here are the 3 things I did to get out of my own way.

1. Uncover Your Intuition.

In another seminar, I asked a question to the facilitator. “I don’t hear my inner voice.” He responded, “You need to quiet the mind”. This seemed impossible to me! For as long as I could remember, I was a mind racer with a million thoughts running through my head. It made it hard to focus during the day and at night was worse. But, I trusted Mel and took his answer to heart. When I taught myself to quiet the mind, I could hear my inner voice. Check out this post on how I uncovered my intuition.

2. Boost the Confidence Factor.

Confidence is key. Once we have the answer, we need to be bold and have the confidence to take action. Confidence & action is key to getting out of your head. For tips on boosting your confidence, check out this previous post.

3. Give It Up to Gratitude.

Although gratitude is currently on trend, it is here to stay. So many of people, especially us A-type personalities, tend to think about the future. I thought I was being proactive because I was on top of things. Now that I practice gratitude and have systems in place, I can be present because I know I have the future covered. Here’s the gratitude log I use.

Daily Gratitude Log

When I adopted the above 3 strategies, I hit my sweet spot. Things came into place. I manifested my soulmate as a divorced Mom. We have our dream home in Los Angeles. Most importantly, we have 2 beautiful daughters that teach me life lessons all the time. I left Corporate America to pursue my passion to help others create a purposeful life they fully love.

You can have it all! I am living proof.

I love my life and wouldn’t trade with with anyone in the universe! Isn’t that how life is supposed to be? I can help you do the same.
