What to Do When You Fuck Up

We are human. We all make blunders from time to time. Whether you are Jack the Ripper or the Dali Lama, there will be times when things don’t go our way. It’s inevitable.

The difference is HOW WE HANDLE IT.

Jack the Ripper could very well take it out on slaying more innocent victims.

The Dali Lama could reflect, shift his perspective and find the silver lining.

Here is what I do when I inevitably fuck up. This post was actually inspired by last night.

About Last Night’s Screw Up.

what to do when you fuck up

1. OWN IT.

This is key. When we take responsibility for our own actions, we take the POWER back. Most of the time, we want to place blame to take the heat off ourselves. That’s childish & just makes it worse.

When you fuck up, own it. Apologize. And I don’t mean the “fake” apology… like the “I’m sorry YOU did not understand what I was trying to say” That apologize is just re-directing blame. And that is not Owning It.

2. HANDLE IT.

Now you have owned it, the next step is to fix it. What are 2-3 things you can do to make it better?

WHAT CAN YOU LEARN FROM IT?

If it happened at work, what can you do to ensure it does not happen again to yourself and your staff?

If it was at home & you yelled at one of your family members – what made you see red? Can you instill a trigger to ensure the next time you communicate it in a more effective way?

Triggers are a great way to create awareness & get you into your optimal state. Want to create your own custom triggers? Book a session with me now & I will hook you up.

3. RELEASE IT.

This part is so darn important. When we hold on to our “fuck ups”, it eats us up inside. When we hold on to the guilt & frustration when we mess up, it eats us up on the inside. We start vibrating at lower levels – which is not good for us.

When it is not released, it will manifest into something ugly. Trust me. I’ve been there. Some may self-medicate through food, drugs, shopping, gossiping … while others could resort to abuse to themselves or others. It can also manifest in physical ailments.

So, make sure you create a process to release the emotions in a constructive way.

The next time you fuck up, use these 3 simple, yet powerful tips. Use the opportunity to grow & learn from it.

Because it is all about the journey, not the destination!

Here is to your Effortless Life!

“If THIS is free – I can’t wait to work with you! This was a game changer!” – Tracy Taylor

“I love this challenge! I watched the past week of vids in one session this morning – love your friendly warm energy, and your enthusiasm :). I wanted to let you know today’s video on Abundance and being open to RECEIVING definitely hit home for me. I will be changing my mindset on that – celebrate my achievements, receive pleasure from them (and others), and let the abundance flow! Have an awesome day and thanks for all you do and share :).” – Jenn Lang

“I’m so excited for the gift you’re sharing through The Effortless Life!  Thank you! I found you in a seemingly random way.  I noticed a comment you made on an Instagram post about manifesting a spot on Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday, and I thought… well this is a person I’d be interested in finding out about!  I hope to see you on the show one day soon. So, I quickly followed you on FB and found your website. Now I’m here to thank you for offering your wisdom to the world, in particular this free class.  It looks like it aligns with the practices I’ve been working on over the last year or so, and I think it will compliment my current “efforts” very well!  What you’re offering seems like just the boost I need at just the right time …

My biggest insight from Day 1 is that even though emotions can feel difficult or “bad” in the moment, there’s a way to process them to our benefit and let them teach us something valuable…they can open our hearts, and expand our reality if we give them the space and take the steps to open up to them. When we pay attention to and feel difficult emotions completely, and even thank them…then we are allowing them do their job and work in support of us.” – Gianna Filice

3 Must Haves to Kill It in 2016

As 2015 is winding down, it’s time to reflect on the year and get ready for 2016. The natural thing to so is to set “Resolutions”. While that is great, Statistics Brain research revealed only 8% of people that actually make resolutions are successful in achieving them! Crazy right? BUT – don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Here are 3 Must Haves to Kill it in 2016.

Silver Lining

1. Find the Silver Lining in Everything:

Really. This sounds so cliche, but totally true. When we search for something positive in a glum situation, we are setting ourselves for success . According to research at Kentucky University, “People who are optimistic are more committed to their goals, are more successful in achieving their goals, are more satisfied with their lives, and have better mental and physical health when compared to more pessimistic people.” The proof is in the pudding! So when “Life Happens” – embrace it. Believe Life Happens for you. Learn from it. Know it is part of your growth.

2. Set Soul Based Goals:

Do your goals inspire you? If it does not inspire you, you most probably will not achieve it. Your goal should light you up! It’s all about focusing on how we feel, rather than what we want. We are not chasing things, we are chasing our feelings. Ensure your goals include how you want to feel. Our emotions are everything. So, leverage it!

3. Invest in Yourself:

This is my personal mantra. As a transformational coach, I am always investing in my growth. This is essential to our development & ultimate happiness. As I continue to develop, sharpen & harness my skills, I can have more impact on my clients, family & friends. And as my skills grow, more people want to work with me. It is a win/win. Whether it is investing in a coach, courses, or books, make the conscious choice to always invest in your growth.

“Our Intention Creates Our Reality” – Wayne Dyer

You are now hooked up. You have the 3 tools you need to kill it in 2016. When you are intentional in creating a life you are obsessed with, you are setting yourself up for happiness. And happiness leads to success!

Now it’s time for you to shine. In the comments below, share with us:

1. What is a recent negative experience you have recently encountered? What can you learn from it?

2. What is 1 Soul Based Goal you have in 2016?

3. How will you invest in yourself this year?

If you are ready to get clear on where you are, where you want to be, I’ve got your back. Set up a clarity call now.

Sending you Love, Light & Oodles of Positive Vibes!

3 Tips From My Transition from Corporate America to an Entrepreneur

I had the dream job in Corporate America. I LOVED it. I worked for Toyota HQ. I supported our Executives with develop & implementation of their Diversity & Inclusion Plans for their organization. I created, facilitated & led Mentoring Programs. I was able to impact our workforce in a massive way. The problem was, I felt constricted. It took a breakdown from overwhelm, lack of fulfillment & guilt to finally realize I was not meant for Corporate America.  Here are 3 Things I’ve learned from my transition from Corporate America to Entrepreneurship.

1. You are ALONE

Literally. I was in Corporate America for 16 years. Admittedly, sometimes I wish I did not have to deal with people … But I did love the collaborative & social element of the office life. When you are a sole entrepreneur, the physical interaction goes out the window. And it can get lonely & old real fast.

EFFORTLESS LIFE TIP: Go to networking events, meet ups and online to find like-minded entrepreneurs. Create a mastermind so you can connect, share, collaborate and up level each other. When it’s done correctly, it’s powerful.

2. You are The BOSS

There is no job description for the role. When you are starting off in the Entrepreneur space, you are it. Head of Product Development, Marketing, Public Relations, Sales … And this was a HARD pill to swallow. There were times I would wish for my job back in Corporate America. It was a hell of a lot easier. But, I pushed through. Because I knew if I did not give it my everything, I would have regret later in life.

EFFORTLESS LIFE TIP: Productivity is ESSENTIAL. As a sole entrepreneur creating a plan is vital. When I put these processes in place, it was a GAME CHANGER in my business. I increased sales while reducing stress, anxiety & worry. I’m all about win/wins.

3. It’s ALL in YOUR MIND

Mindset is key!! Seriously. When your mindset is right, the realm of possibilities open up for you. It’s the foundation to success. I worked on my mindset to overcome the roadblocks which had  stopped me from leaving the comforts of the stability. When I took control, evaluated & changed my mindset, it all changed. It was like seeing the world in HD. As a result, I have been able to weather the rocky parts of the Entrepreneurial adventure.

EFFORTLESS LIFE TIP: DO THE WORK! Really. So many entrepreneurs fail because they do not take the time to invest in themselves. And when you don’t invest in yourself, how will anyone invest in you? When you fix your mindset, you increase joy in all parts of your life. The best part? We have the power to change our reality. Ready to change yours? Let’s do it. Book your discovery session now!

The Power of Negative Emotions

For the longest time I didn’t “allow” myself to process negative emotions.

I didn’t want to be “The Emotional Gal” because I was told I wouldn’t be taken seriously – especially in Corporate America.

So, whenever I had negative emotions like fear, guilt or sadness I would tell myself “They were bad” and would push them deep inside. I thought I had it all figured out.

If I was able to be “happy” all the time, then everything would be fine. Kind of like the Seinfeld episode “Serenity NOW”.

It worked for a while. Then it all crashed down upon me…

I had a breakdown. I was exhausted, overwhelmed, full of anxiety and completely lost.

Even though it looked like I had it all … from Manifesting my Soulmate as a Divorced Mom to our amazing home in Los Angeles, our 2 beautiful girls, the “dream” job in Corporate America & a successful interior design business.

During my breakdown, I finally rolled up my sleeves and did the inner work that I desperately needed but never wanted to face.

Through a year of non-stop therapy, coaching, seminars, book & resources I was able to go through the dark and embrace the lights.

I realized Negative thoughts ARE GOOD FOR US!

They are there intentionally to alert us that something is off. It is a trigger for us to reflect and see what is going on with us and our environment. It’s a fabulous awareness tool. Here is a video I cut just for this important topic.

The thing is, most of us choose not to process and release them, we are only hurting ourselves & the people we love. We end up depressed, anxious and stressed. We take prescribe meds which can lead to other issues or we self medicate though food, shopping, gambling, passive aggressive actions, gossiping ….

Instead of harming ourselves and the people around us, let’s take BACK the control. Let’s process those pesky negative emotions. Then we can release them. And we can get back into our High Vibes.

Because my dear, we are all energy. And we are human magnets.

When we are radiating high vibes of love, gratitude, abundance – we attract more of that in our life.

Conversely, when we are living in the negative emotions for too long, we continue to attract more things to continue staying in the lower energetic vibrations.

And we can see it all around us. I am sure you have the Eeyore’s or Oscar the Grouch’s in the world. Remember the down in the dumps donkey from Winnie the Poo & the Green haired guy living in the trash can on Sesame Street? They had one thing is common. They were always radiating lower energy levels.

High Vibes

This is such an important piece of living a life you are Obsessed with. We all have days which drive us crazy. Crap happens. And that is okay.

Instead of pushing it down and trying to rationalize it, start to process it. Understand it. Learn from it. That is SO POWERFUL in our self awareness and reflection.

Because life is a journey, not a destination. The world is our classroom. It is up to us to find the lesson, search for the silver lining in all. That is how we grow. How we learn and how we teach others.

My Path to Having It All: Stage 2 – The Opening Phase

Path to Having it All - Opening PhaseThis saying is so freaking rad.Our power is our ability to choose our feelings, which control everything! It reconfirmed my belief to keep going down the path to Having it All.The Opening Phase in the Path to Having it All was amazing. I started to realize that I – not anyone else was getting in my own way. I had no idea what that meant, but I was curious and excited to explore more. I was open.

At the opening phase, it is all about being aware you have filters from you past experiences. When I entered this stage, I would say all the time, “It is like seeing the world in HD!” It was the same magnitude of when I opened my eyes after Lasik eye surgery. I saw the world in a state of wonder and delight.

I dived into self discovery because I knew I had to find answers. I was sick and tired of just accepting life as status quo. I was over pushing down those soul questions that would pop into my head in the middle of the night which didn’t allow me to sleep. I was so tired of being tired. I was tired of feeling guilty for feeling lack in my life because I had so many things to be grateful for. A great husband I manifested as a Divorced Mom, 2 beautiful girls, our dream home and a secure job.

After being in the Getting Grounded phase, I knew there was more work for me to do to truly Have it All. For more on my Getting Grounded phase click here.

So instead of wallowing in my crap, I started my path. It was the first time I experienced excitement in weeks. In between my therapist appointments, I started to read books like mad. When I got tired of reading, I would take a break and listen to audio books. And then inspiration hit.

I was on Facebook and saw there was a local event going on with female entrepreneurs. I felt a nudge in me, telling me I should go. Being an introvert yes I am an introvert when I am at events where I don’t know anyone I was surprised that I accepted the invitation. Especially in the state of anguish I was in.

I would have done a “no show” if I didn’t have to pay money. So I got ready and went. When I got there, I was so nervous. I did not know what to expect and I didn’t even know the women hosting the event.

But I went with it. I sat next to someone that was amazing. She understood me. She got my struggle. And then, without even looking, I hired my first coach. It was a scary & exciting feeling to invest in myself and believe in a new possibility!

The biggest impact was on my mindset. I discovered my limiting beliefs and how that created an invisible glass ceiling that I never knew existed. It was crazy! I started to skim the surface on how the brain works and how life experiences, my environment impacted everything.

I became so fascinated with the mind, I went to 5 day working seminars to discover more. I was obsessed. It was like crack for the soul. I started to understand how it all worked. It was freakin’ awesome sauce. I began putting pieces together in my life and started to understand WHY I was in the situation I was. WHAT was really in my way. Then I started to learn HOW to get out of it. One of those steps entailed getting off of antidepressants!

If you are ready to open yourself up a world of new possibilities and get on the path of Having it All, set up a complimentary discovery session with me. We will get clear on where you are & where you want to be.

The opening phase on the path to Having it All was bitter sweet. I got the concepts, but I was not sure how to apply it. I would see small shifts and have moments of genius and I would crave for more enlightenment. So I would study more and more.

Then, one day my lighting bolt it, of course, at the perfect time.

Sending you Love, Life and Oodles of Positive Vibes!
